通过本课时学习,学生能够:  

1、运用书中插图简单猜测出故事中的Who? What?Why?Where?并能结合插图和文字初步看懂故事大意。  

2、在教师的帮助下,利用图片、板书等分角色表演故事,理解故事内涵。从故事中懂得每一个人都应该有自己的梦想,并且要为了自己的梦想不断努力奋斗。  

3、掌握一些阅读技巧,例如:skimming, scanning等。

Step 1: Warming up and free talk  

1. Enjoy a song Jobs  

1. Greetings&talking    

T: Good afternoon, boys and girls. I’m glad to see you. Before class, Let’s enjoy a nice song. It’s about jobs? Today we are talking about jobs.  

【设计意图课前播放”jobs”歌曲,将学生引入情境中,激发学习兴趣,同时引出职业主题,揭示课题。】  

2. Warming up   

From the song, we learn some jobs. Do you remember?Let’s see.  

T: What does he do?  S: He is a farmer.  

T: What does she do?  S: He is a teacher.  

T: What does he do?  S: He is a doctor.   

(教读单词farmerteacherdoctor)  

2. Now let’s have a guess what does he/she do. (根据线索猜测职业)   

S: He/She is a...    

(教读单词cookworker)  

【设计意图】通过四个线索来猜测职业,调动学生思维和参与的积极性,同时在情境中教授了生词。  

3. T:What other jobs do you know?

  T: Let’s learn.  

(教读单词:nurse, policeman,writer)  

T:We have many people in the world.And we also have many jobs in the world.  

If we want to know people’s jobs, we can ask “What do they do?”(揭题)  

Step 2 : Pre-reading  

1. Look and guess  

Our friends Mike and Su Hai are talking about jobs too. Whose jobs are they talking about?     

S: Mike’s parents’ and Su Hai’s parents’.(板贴人物头像)   

T: From the pictures, can you guess what they do? S: Maybe Mike’s father is a ...(板书学生的猜想)   

【设计意图】引导学生通过读图对文本的进行预测,调动学生的思维,激发求知欲。   

(Ss: Maybe he’s a cook/a fishman/a lawyer...  

T: Look,there’s an English book in Mike’s father’s hand. Maybe his father wants to learn English. A cook wants to cook some English food.)  

Ss:Maybe his mother is a teacher/a doctor...  

【设计意图:通过图片、猜谜游戏,有利于学生记忆单词,在锻炼学生读图能力的同时,在情境中操练本课核心句型。】  

Step 3 : While-reading

Let’s watch the cartoon. Then try to answer the questions.

2. Listen and find  

T: We know Mike’s parents’ jobs, T: I have two more questions for you.   

What do they do every day? And where do they work? Let’s listen and answer the questions.

   He teaches English. (teach-- teaches)  

Q2: Where does he/she work?  

He works at home.   

T: What about Mike’s mother? Please read P48.  

Q1: What does he/she do every day?  

She writes stories.   (write-writes)  

Q2: Where does he/she work?  

She works at home.  

3. Let’s read after the tape.  

【设计意图】跟读课文,引导学生模仿语音语调。   

4. Read and find  

T: We know Su Hai’s father is a doctor and her mother is a worker. What do they do every day? This time, Let’s read page 49 then fill in the blanks. (提出读书要求,认真,仔细,时间2分钟)  

【设计意图:文本的学习由扶到放,通过一定的语言知识结构,让学生自主习得,并利用问题链让人物的形象更生动。】

Please work in four, choose one family to talk about. One of you be the reporter, And the mind map here can help you.(策略指导:可以借助思维导图复述)   

【设计意图】通过同伴合作采访的方式,进一步加深学生对文本的理解,提高学生对于重点句型的运用能力。
