五下Unit 8 Birthdays   

Story time& Fun time ( Period2)  

教学目标:  

1. 能听懂、会读、会说单词:eleventh, eighth, together.  

2. 能听懂、会读、会说日常用语:When’s your birthday? What do you do on your birthday? 及回答It’s on… I usually…  

3. 能正确的理解并朗读课文,在教师的引导和帮助下尝试用第三人称复述课文内容。  

4. 能尝试写一封生日邀请函。  

教学重点和难点:  

教学重点:能正确理解并朗读课文,在教师的帮助下尝试复述课文。  

教学难点:能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型询问别人的生日以及如何过生日。  

情感教育:能理解中国节日家人团聚的深意,明白亲人的意义。The more we get together,the happier we’ll be.  

教学准备:PPT,练习纸,课课练   

教学过程:Teaching procedures  

Step1. Warm up  

1. Enjoy a song.:<The more we get together.> (感知朋友之间的友谊,在一起才会更好。)  

2. Greeting:   

What day is it today? What date is it today?  

3. Have a talk: In China, there are some traditional festivals. Let’s have a talk.   

What festival is it? When is it? What do people do at this festival?   

(着重讨论一个节日,引出中国节日中“团聚”这一深意。The more we get together, the happier we’ll be. 为下面学习生日及生日活动做铺垫。)  

How about the others? At Spring Festival, people get together with their families. And at the other festivals, people usually get together with their families or friends, too. The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.  

   

Step2: Presentation   

1. Have a guess:   

T: Different holidays for different things. I also have a special day. It means” the day when I was born”. What is it?  

S: It’s your birthday.  

T: Yes. It's my birthday. ( bird- birth- birthday)  

Let’s have a guess about my birthday activities.   

I can play with my fiends and eat nice food. ---- have a party  

play computer, chess ,sports and so on.--- play games  

It is very long. I should eat on my birthday. --- eat noodles  

It is so sweet. It is made of cake and cream. ---- a birthday cake  

(教词组,板书)  

T: I have my birthday. You have your birthdays . Today we’ll learn Unit8 Birthdays . (揭题)   

2. In our class, two students have their birthdays in May. I prepare two presents. Please finish three tasks and help them get the presents.   

Task1: Get five dates of one’s birthday;  

Task2: Introduce a birthday activities;  

Task3: Write a birthday invitation.  

Let’s go to the first task. First, …….Next, ……..; Then,……..; finally,…….  

3. Task1: Get five dates of one’s birthday;  

Have a try:   

T: How to get the date of my birthday?  

S: 引发学生提问:When’s your birthday? (2-3)   

(What do you do on your birthday ?)  

T: It’s on the thirteenth of July. (讲日期的表达方式) (解说)  

Try to ask: When’s your birthday?

看词说英文  

Try to read :   

( 指定学生回答的生日。)  

Miss Yu’s birthday is on the thirteenth of July.  

Wang ziyi’s birthday is on the fourth of March.  

Tao yiheng’s birthday is on the nineteenth of January.  

Xu jiayin’s birthday is on the twenty-third of July.  

Zhang jiawang’s birthday is on the fourteenth of June.  

Find the mistakes:  

   Let’s have a game .There are some ordinal numbers, Find the mistakes in these words. And change them.

Well done, boys and girls. Now read the rules we should remember.  

OK. Look at the red words “the” ,how can we read here?  

Next, ……..; Then,(小组活动)  

Next, ask in your group , get the dates of one’s birthday. And write them on the paper.   

Now, we have got three dates of your friends’ birthdays. How about Su Hai and Mike?    

Listen carefully and write them on your paper quickly. (听录音)  

T: Nowwho can report your task one. (2)  

Very good. You all finish task1, Give you the first present. Tell us, whose birthday is in May in our class?   

S:   

Get your present and share with your classmates.(发第一个礼物)  

4. Now, Task2: Introduce one’s birthday.  

First, watch the cartoon;  

Next, talk the birthday activities;  

Then ,read the story ;  

Finally, introduce one’s birthday.  

First, watch the cartoon ,and get the words such as: “ have a party…””eat noodles” . Watch carefully.  

Next, talk about SuHai and Mike’s birthday activities.   

Well , fill them in the blanks.  

Then, read the story.  

Listen and follow.  

Read together.  

Finally, try to introduce one’s birthday. Work in your groups.   

Report.   

Well, you can introduce one’s birthday. The another present for you. Who has the birthday in May ,too?  

Share the presents with the others.  

   

5. Task3: Write an invitation.  

If your birthday is coming. Please write an invitation to your friend. Look at my invitation.   

 Dear, Betty__ :__  

     My birthday is on the thirteenth of July. I will have a party at six o’clock at home. It is fun.  

We can play games and dance at the party.   

We can eat a birthday cake and drink some juice at the party.  

I hope you can come on that day!

教学反思:  

本节课教学环节清晰,通过询问生日的具体日期和谈论在生日里做的事情展开对话,旨在让学生在真实的语境中理解并掌握语言知识。  

我先说说这节课中表现比较好的方面。  

一、注重调动学习的积极性高,课堂气氛好。  

本节课的教学内容是和学生息息相关的,但是教学内容相对比较简单,因此在设计教学环节时我通过歌曲的演唱,让学生猜礼物在什么地方、加星等环节来充分调动学生学习的积极性,课堂气氛活跃。  

二、注重学生听说读写能力的培养。  

从让学生听到猜节日导入新课、看动画写苏海和麦克的生日日期,再到自读课文划出关键词、最后根据板书复述课文,同桌讨论中西方人过生日之间的差异。通过多种教学手段紧抓学生学习的注意力。  

三、抓细节,让学生自主学习,自己讨论发现问题。  

在导入新课后,我并没有着急让学生学习课文,而是让学生自主提问,你想要了解课文中人的哪些信息,又该怎么提问呢?最后的讨论环节,学生更是能够根据板书的引导,自主发现中西方人过生日之间的差异,培养了学生积极思维的能力。  

教学过程中发现的问题:  

一、学生语言活动的丰富性不够。  

生日这个话题本是学生非常喜欢的,谈论的东西也非常多,但在整个教学中,学生仅仅只能谈到吃面条、吃蛋糕。没有能够根据话题展开更为丰富的想像,在语言表达上比较枯燥。这个也是我以后在教学上要关注的地方。  

二、创造更多的机会让学生去说。  

在复述课文环节,我先是带领学生根据板书复述了苏海的生日,又带领学生复述了麦克的生日,其实在这里,学生已经明白了老师的意图,复述的内容也比较简单,完全可以放手让学生自己去说,给学生更多机会,也许学生的复述会更精彩。
